Pre-workout and its ingredients
In the study “Effects of Pre-Workout Multi-Ingredient Supplement on Anaerobic Performance,” They used a Pre-Workout called Knockout 2.0®. This Pre-Workout includes common ingredients like Caffeine (3.4 mg·kg), Taurine, Beta-alanine, Tyrosine, and amino acids like L-arginine, and L-citruline. They found that Pre-Workout with different ingredients is probably more effective than just caffeine by itself. The reason is that the different ingredients can collaborate. However, the Caffeine is been shown to have the greatest effect. the ingredients that are recommended and why are the following: Taurine may improve post-exercise heart functions and lead to better cardiovascular recovery and it might also enhance muscle function by regulating calcium levels. Beta-alanine can potentially improve performance during high-intensity training by delaying muscle fatigue, Tyrosine might improve focus and reduce fatigue. The amino acids like L-arginine and L-citrulline may enhance blood flow and energy metabolism which will improve athletic performance. It’s unclear to what degree each of the ingredients affects the workout however these are the recommended ones. |
